Friends in Boiling Springs, PA

Trail just south of Boiling Springs

Today I hiked to Boiling Springs, where our long-time Army friends Deb & Gordy picked me up and brought me to their house. I was hoping to visit with them on my way through Pennsylvania, and I’m glad it worked out so well. We know Deb & Gordy from Germany, where we were stationed together for years. Our families went to church together; our kids went to school together; and Gordy and I ran a Boy Scout troop together for several years. We’ve kept in touch ever since, and it is always nice seeing them again.

Gordy brought me to a supermarket and two sporting goods stores for some needed items. Being welcomed into their home was a wonderful respite from the trail. They could not have been more gracious, and I enjoyed staying with them and seeing their children and grandchildren, who were in town for Easter.

I was also able to FaceTime with my own granddaughter, who was in the midst of her 6th birthday party. This was a very enjoyable visit and well worth a second “zero.”

  1. How nice that you got a short respite. I remember your friends from E’s wedding. Glad you got to see them. Much love and safe journey.

  2. You actually make it seem so easy together with your presentation however I to find this topic to be actually something which I believe I might never understand. It seems too complex and very huge for me. I am looking forward for your subsequent post, I will try to get the grasp of it!

  3. I’m now not certain the place you’re getting your information, however good topic. I must spend some time finding out more or understanding more. Thanks for excellent information I used to be looking for this information for my mission.
